In times of extreme duress one method to seek safety is to leave the body all together. It’s a trauma response and an attempt at self preservation (playing dead away from the body) in this state the aura can actually detach from the body, creating a sensation of numbness.

If I were to put on a Zoom class for how to Thrive During the Holidays, would anyone be interested in attending? I will be doing the class on November 21st from 10am-1pm

My hands are very important to me. Last year I was performing chair massage at grueling outdoor festival in the middle of summer with little water and no ventilation. I worked on so many clients that I lost control of my thumbs! Have you ever lost control of your thumbs? http://kristamatheny.com/neuromuscular_structural_therapy/

Learning about the spine with @bonniebainbridgecohen and anatomy in motion. I learn so much from these classes and how to embody anatomy. This is another silver lining to the pandemic, being able to take so many classes with this force of knowledge and experience

The body is a sanctuary. When I am stressed. When life gets to be too much. When it feels like there is way more then I’m capable of, I look and breathe into my body and the divine energies that lie that. When I’m outside of my body, there is a good chance I’m overwhelmed and entangled in energies that aren’t mine. It way too much to contend with. So I breathe, and I remember where I am and what is mine to do. Today, it’s in the stillness. Numbers of covid are surging here. I’m standing by and considering what extra measures need to be taken to increase the chance of safety. It feels like too much when I look at all of it. It is only time to be what is mine to do.

I don’t like wearing these. It feels like a hot bucket on my head. It’s hard to breath. My studio room doesn’t have AC a lot so I want to just tear it off. However, this helps keep my clients safe and could help me stay safe. While my body beat Covid, I’m not going to make it easy for it to try again. This is what is needed to help others. While I can’t wait for a world to become a place where I don’t need the head bucket, it’s something that is needed at this time.

This is how far I have to set the mic so the bowls don’t blow it out.... I think they are a tad loud

Being back in the studio feels strange. Quarantine was a little traumatic. Not as horrible as it sounds. I was actually super lucky in so many ways, not catching covid, not giving it to any friends or clients, having a place to go and learning many new things while I was there. Being back is also hard. My body is really reactive and stressed which tells me the stress was May more then I realized. So winding down and tending to my nervous system and well as my energies to move back into calm and balance. It’s important. Rest is a productive activity as well.

All hail to this incredible lady, aka my quarantine roommate. She took a risk and hosted me so my roommate could leave his room and I could have some quiet during this time. This is us last night celebrating my first hour of freedom by going shopping and getting dinner to picnic. I’m so glad quarantine is over to so great to this wonderful teacher, musician and friend who helped make it so much more pleasant. Check out her bubbling personality and sharp wit on YouTube at Ukulele Fool and see her here @theukulelefool !

More sound healing tools are coming! I’m so excited about communing more with the frequencies of sound and vibration in our sessions together. Stress, overwhelm and panic are easy to come by these days with a society in fluctuation. Entering deeper into calm and the brain waves associated with rest and relaxation are wonderful methods to have more room within to handle the tight corners you are navigating at such high speeds.

11 days into quarantine and I am officially in the clear. My body fought this off and I’m getting booked for my return on Thursday! While, I’d love to say this has been stress free, it hasn’t. It’s been an exploration into calm and pockets of panic. One of the reasons why I’ve been so mindful during this pandemic is I know first hand what it’s like to be deeply physically injured. I am still actively working on rehabbing these injuries and frankly, don’t want any more. The fa...ct that this virus can harm others has been my foremost reason for mindfulness. In yoga, Ahimsa is non-violence or Do No Harm. It’s no one’s fault if they catch this virus, but I will continue to do everything I can to do my part in containing it. This has turned into a flexibility in socializing and self care to see through another lens how to get these needs met. One major thing I’m contributing is filming and making a mini-class in navigating these times. It’s been a nice project and I look forward to sharing it with you! See more

I’m in Covid Jail... aka Quarantine. If you have seen me in the past month, you know I’ve taken Covid-19 very serious and followed all of the #healthyatwork protocols (and then some) I’ve been prepared to face Covid at work and help you move into ease. However, the sucker still snuck in inside my roommate who works with the public. He tested positive last Wednesday. I’ve tested negative twice. I sat next to Covid for FOUR days at close contact with no mask. I have ZERO doubt ...it got into my body.... and my body kicked it’s ass. While I am Covid free... the health department is taking no risks and I am in quarantine till next week. No symptoms and feeling fine at a friends house. I am so incredibly grateful for being so careful because my protocols are made to prevent spread and I’ve seen first hand that it would have worked. I am incredibly grateful to my body for being a badass and have fantastic killer T cells and assassin B cells. I’m working on things meanwhile. Be well and I’ll be out soon. See more

This is part of my protocol. I’ve been tested twice a month since I opened and about to start once a week because of the results wait. I’m so grateful to the governor for making testing accessible and so grateful to have this extra safety net.

This pandemic has kicked my ass. I’m not going to lie. When lockdown started I lost the majority of my self care tools (bodywork, sauna and floating) and my nervous system went into deep duress. It’s been REAL. I totally shut down and struggled to do simple things even as quarantine lifted. To be honest, I’m still working on figuring how to do simple things. This isn’t over and a need for hyper vigilance in my actions and behaviors for the sake of myself, my friends and my cl...ients has not been easy but I’m figuring it out. Working with energy is way more encompassing then working with the subtle or the consciousness of a situation or energy pattern. It can have a physicality’s well. So I’m still working on resetting, how to create a lifestyle that can survive a pandemic and that is sustainable no matter the circumstances. Right now, it’s water which can represent deep restoration and emotional regulation. It’s the still moments and allowing the silence to fill. It’s knowing the the more space the nervous system has, the more space there is overall. See more

Energy medicine existed before the scientific method. While energy medicine does not replace the scientific method, it takes consciousness into consideration as it relates to the human condition. Many cultures were able to contain their energy medicine traditions and preserve them for today's world.

25.06.2020

Most chronic illnesses derive from too much stress in one's life. It is extremely important to reduce stress and regulate the nervous system. Regular bodywork or energy treatments can be fantastic tools to teaching your body a new baseline of calm.

22.06.2020

There are many, many forms of energy medicine out there. It is one of the oldest forms of health care. It is one of the most widely accessible and inexpensive forms of care in existence.
