Broken Back From Massage: Don't let this happen to you! This is a Story about my Dear Client’s friend who is also my friend. My client’s friend lives in another state but also lives part-time in Vegas. As long as I have known her she has been in a lot of pain from several accidents. She has had several surgeries to her back and hips. My client/friend always encouraged her to see me thinking I could help. I saw her a few times over 10-15 years. A few days ago she contact...ed me for a massage. I had not seen her for a year and it had been a few years since I massaged her. She indicated that she was in poor shape because of recent surgery, that wasn’t correctly performed! While she was home (out of state) she made an appointment for a massage. The Massage place was having a Special. She had made her appointment in advance, but when she arrived she was told they did not have any records of her appointment. The only Massage Therapist that was available was a 6’5 gentleman. She doesn’t believe this Therapist read her medical records, prior to her massage. She said she had to end the massage early, due to the great pain she was suffering. She was alone, so she had to drive herself home. She went to he hospital shortly afterwards. and obtained X-Rays. It was discovered that the therapist fractured her L-5. She didn’t complain because of all her problems with her back! I advised that she should let the massage company know what happened to her back during her recent massage. As she was telling me this story, she was in tears! I completed her 90 min massage session. She was thrilled how good she felt and wants another session in two weeks. Don't get a massage just for the price, you could get hurt by someone with little experience.
